Burnet News Club LIVE is an event from The Economist Educational Foundation, taking place on the 1st of February 2019.
This year our immersive, choose-your-own-adventure event is focusing on freedom of speech.
During the day, hundreds of young people from across the country will:
- discuss their opinions with other young people around the UK
- receive live feedback from expert contributors
- decide collectively on how the story progresses.
At the end of the day they'll have to decide: should a city defend free speech or protect their community from harm?
The Burnet News Club is a network of unique, inspiring school news clubs in the UK. Named after Sir Alastair Burnet, the club equips disadvantaged young people with what they need to have their say about current affairs. Find out more here...
